Church Hill is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Richmond and encompasses the original boundaries of the City of Richmond. Church Hill is known as the site of Virginia’s second revolutionary convention, where Patrick Henry gave his “Give me liberty or give me death” speech at St. John’s Church. Almost 20 historic churches within its 2-mile radius gives it the iconic name it has today. Many of those churches have been turned into condos and commercial spaces, lending to this areas peaceful vibe and relaxed pace. Another neighborhood known for its incredible restaurant scene, many of these eateries have won national recognition. Church Hill residents enjoy a tremendous amount of outdoor space – lots of parks and proximity to the James River and Virginia Capital Trail makes this area ideal for those who love the outdoors as much as they love city life!
